Newsletter for Parents May 15th 2020

Friday 15th May 2020

Dear Parents and Carers

As you are aware we have been busy planning for the potential reopening of the school for our primary groups after the half term break. This is dependent on the 5 tests, set by the Government, being met.

Those children that are joining us will be allocated a classroom area and outside space, where they will complete their learning tasks, take their breaks and eat their lunches. They will not have access to the whole school site and they will not be socialising at break times or lunch times. The staff group will remain consistent, with little or no changes, unless we have staff absence.

The Year Groups are as follows.

The group sizes will be limited to a maximum of 4 pupils with three members of staff. Some areas will have 2 or 3 children, depending on the room size.

The breaks and lunchtimes will be staggered and the outside spaces will be timetabled for learning beyond the classroom.

Lunches will be provided for children who receive free school meals only. All other children will need a packed lunch and snacks and drinks for the day. This will help reduce the risk of any possible infection.

Strict handwashing measures are in place and all rooms will have hand sanitisers. Staff will be wearing PPE and where children want to, they are able to wear face masks.

Please do not send your child to school in their uniform, as this causes some risks of transference.  All staff will be washing their clothes and showering each evening, in line with Government advise. Therefore, we will be asking parents to do the same for the children. Children will need clean clothing each day, with any spares for those children who are toilet training or otherwise.

Again, I apologise for the formal approach to this update letter, but our ultimate aim is that we keep everyone safe.

Staff will be contacting parents next week, to let them know which group their child will be in for the next few weeks.
