Governor’s announcement regarding new Head Teacher of Pathfield School

Wednesday 17th June 2020

Dear Parents and Carers

We are delighted to tell you that from November 2nd 2020, Stuart Allman will be the new Head Teacher for Pathfield School.

He was the successful candidate in a rigorous process which lasted 2 days and included input from a group of children, staff, Multi Agency Team an hour long discussion with Governors as well as a 90 minute formal interview.

Stuart has been an Assistant Headteacher in school for the past ten years or so and knows our children very well, he has also been our Safeguarding Lead for many years, an area which Ofsted repeatedly regard as Outstanding.

The timing of his appointment means that Cherie will be able to hand over the school to Stuart gradually so that the transition is smooth for everyone at a time when we are still facing uncertainties with regard to schools and Covid 19.

We appointed Cherie as Headteacher two years ago, knowing that her intention was to remain for a short term only, but also recognising she had immense skills and knowledge which would be invaluable to us in a time when we needed to review the structure of the school. She has done an amazing job and we are confident that the school is now ready to consolidate all the changes and move forward under Stuart’s leadership.

It has been a very strange time for us all and it is lovely that we now have more children back in school and that everyone is adapting well to new classes and procedures including PPE. Cherie, Stuart, the Middle Managers and staff have done a great job in ensuring that the school is as safe as humanly possible for everyone.  Thank you all for your co-operation and flexibility in this.

I am sure you will join me in wishing Stuart all the best in his headship from November and Cherie a well earnt retirement.

Best wishes

Rosemary Mitchell
Chair of Governors
