I qualified as a teacher in 1997 and have spent all but one of those years teaching within Special Education. I’ve held various posts through my career including Subject Co-ordinator and Behaviour Lead, as well as the Designated Safeguarding Lead in two schools for over 12 years. My passion has always been Special Education and to gain a deeper understanding I completed a Masters Degree in Learning Difficulties at Birmingham University in 2004.

I have a keen interest in the arts and regularly attend a local life drawing group. Since living in Devon, it has been a real privilege to have had drawings exhibited in the Westward Ho! and Bideford Art Society annual exhibitions at the Burton Art Gallery.
