Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering personalised learning programs for students with diverse needs, collaborating with parents and external agencies, and contributing to our dynamic curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Individualised Learning Plans: Create tailored educational programs to meet the unique needs of each student, focusing on their strengths and challenges.
- Teach and Adapt Curriculum: Deliver core subjects like Literacy, Maths, and PSHE, adapting materials to suit students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with parents, therapists, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for students.
- Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess students’ skills and progress, providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
- Contribute to School Life: Participate in school events, staff training, and community activities to foster a cohesive and supportive environment.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Relevant experience in special education is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- To be a resilient practitioner with the ability to meet challenges with patience and empathy.
- Flexibility and creativity in adapting teaching methods.
- Strong organisational skills for lesson planning and collaboration.
