We are currently seeking for financial help in order to transform our outside area into a ‘Disability & Sensory Outdoor Space’ which will be available to all our children (Key Stage 1-6) on daily basis.
This will include outdoor gym equipment, sensory equipment, shelter and outdoor gazebo. With a view to maximise the use of the Disability Space, it will be made available to other partnered organizations as well. The PAC club (a club for children with complex needs and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) would use the new facilities on weekends and school holidays. Autism family groups will be able to have access after school for exercise activities.
The project will improve and create outdoor opportunities, outdoor classroom and leisure facilities for children including wheelchair users. The equipment will be designed for a wide range of disabilities and special needs in order to develop, explore and find the pupil’s limits of capability in an exciting way. The Disability Space should create an area of the school that enables children, where possible, to leave their disabilities behind, offer exercise, freedom, relaxation, stimulation of senses, manual dexterity, challenge and enjoyment.
